Therefore, thanks to you, I have applied for the surgical Match.
It is extremely competative and the likelihood of my success in this endeavor is slim. I will know by April if I have been accepted.

I can always contine to work in internal medicine, even if I fail to get a surgical spot.

Still, your constant hammering on my ego (which is not evident to me, btw) shows I need to surround myself with people with egos impervious to intimidation, in short, Surgeons.

Thank you for your help.

Leonid: Glad to be of help, but it is crucial to remember the difference between egotist and egoist. As a doctor I hope you can switch from wrong to right soon. I really do wish you well...

M5:
In preparation for the possibility of success, I will be spending much of my time studying and refreshing my surgical skills, such as knot-tying. That said, I will not have nearly as much time to spend on here, but I will attempt to continue reading the posts, although I will respond less often.

According dictionary(dot)com, both egoist and egotist mean essentially the same thing. An arrogantly conceited, self-centered, selfish person.

There is no good definition.

Leonid: In my dictionary the only difference listed is in terms of exterior(egotist) and interior(egoist). It also states the egotist constantly makes outward reference to self, where the egoist keeps the thoughts inward but pursues the happiness of self.

Leonid: Even though you aren't alone in opinion, you are alone in terms of your giant ego.

M5:
As an actor, you must know there is no way to know what the audience will take away from the performance.
You have been performing for me for quite some time now.

You have actually helped me, potentially immensely.

You have proven I have more patience than I thought.

Your constant references to my GIGANTIC ego combined with your admission of your unlikely financial success, got me to thinking.

You said only a surgeon had a right to an ego as large as mine.
M5mebster7 (December 1, 2008 at 1:09 am)
Leonid: Actors need giant egos too, but if they're not turned into egoism, they won't serve the actor. I suspect the same is true for a surgeon.
M5mebster7 (December 1, 2008 at 1:27 am)
Leonid: I know, should have used the word gigantic not giant. Anyway, you're right it was a performance, but I didn't know it while I was doing it. Sorry if it got heated from Mr. Bipolar actor, but I have a good side too you know. I wish you the best...

Not to mention the fiddle and the dobro

Thanks. Saw M5 had been in here bouncing around. Have you converted anyone to RA since I've been away? Diligence is necessary in the medical profession and religiosity as well.
