don't quote me, but i heard somewhere that the immense force of an atomic blast would kick up an enormous amount of earth, which is largely composed of iron (hence its categorization as an earth element), into the atmosphere. iron's presence in the atmosphere would cause it to oxidize and turn red. red particles in the sky would mean a red sky. then, as peter gabriel sings, the oxidized iron would be dissolved in the precipitation of water vapor and fall back to the earth as "red rain."

Sigur Ros' music is simply stunning. I was at the festival, Hurricane, in Germany this summer and they blew me away. What amazes me about them is that their music sounds so simply beautiful. It's only when you listen properly you hear all the different sounds and effects that meld together to create their amazing and awe inspiring msuic.

it's a very sad video... and it gets more sad to think that this will probably going to happen...

sigur ros are just beautiful. that's all you can say. interpret it your own way, but it's amazing music with a deep video that makes you sit back and think.

I completely agree about the interpretation part. I think the video shows the destructive nature of humans. The post nuclear setting is the first thing you see. Then the dead dove which is a symbol of peace and children which can symbolize innocence. Then the children destroy the car and when they get into a fight one ends up dying. I think that the use of children just shows that it's not just adults, but humans in general that are destructive. Very sad, but true.
